Finspection Oy and AFRY have expanded their collaboration in wind turbine inspection services. The aim of the partnership is to integrate statutory pressure equipment inspections more smoothly into wind turbine maintenance and service planning.
Wind turbine inspection requires specialist expertise
The safe and reliable operation of wind turbines requires regular inspections and a thorough understanding of turbine structures, technology and operating environments. Some wind turbines contain pressure equipment, such as hydraulic accumulators, which must undergo periodical inspections in accordance with statutory requirements. These periodical inspections are typically carried out every four years and may only be performed by an Accredited inspection body.
When turbine inspections are planned as part of broader maintenance activities, separate site visits can be reduced, schedules streamlined and downtime minimised. This supports both the safe operation of the turbines and the long-term management of the wind farm.
Finspection brings accredited inspection expertise to the wind energy sector
Finspection carries out periodical inspections of pressure equipment used in wind turbines as an Accredited inspection body approved by Tukes (Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency). The inspections cover the actual inspection work as well as the related regulatory documentation.
