Viafin Process Piping Oy: “Service collaboration flows smoothly nationwide according to our schedules”
Viafin Process Piping Oy serves the Finnish industry nationwide with pipe manufacturing, installation, and maintenance. The company is part of the Viafin Service Oyj group, employing around six hundred individuals and over a hundred certified welders.
Viafin has a regular need for welder certifications and supervision of welding procedure tests according to the Pressure Equipment Directive. Finspection has become a reliable partner for these needs. Another service that Viafin gladly obtains from Finspection is the A2 module for pressure equipment manufacturing, which involves production monitoring through occasional, supervised inspections.
“I am responsible for ensuring that welder certifications, welding procedure tests, and the use of the A2 module all comply with the Pressure Equipment Directive,” says Timo Hirsimäki, Quality Manager and Lead Welding Coordinator at Viafin Process Piping. “Finspection has been our primary inspection partner since August 2023 – nowadays, we communicate on a weekly basis.”

The collaboration began in August 2023 when Viafin was organizing welding procedure tests for specific dates. However, their previous partner couldn’t provide supervisors at the desired time, so Viafin started exploring alternatives.
“We noticed that Finspection had experienced, skilled personnel,” recalls Hirsimäki.
“So, we decided to try out a service collaboration with them. We received truly expert and experienced service that worked well,” Hirsimäki continues. “Nowadays, we are in regular contact.”
