Inspection Services for Pressure Equipment Manufacturers
Legislation within the European region imposes requirements for the manufacturing and inspection of pressure equipment. Finspection is an accredited inspection body by FINAS and a notified body with approval to perform conformity assessment of pressure equipment and the personnel and method qualification for permanent joints.
Conformity Assessment of Pressure Equipment
The Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU applies to pressure equipment and its components. Its purpose is to ensure that the pressure equipment meets safety and health requirements when used in the EU market.
Manufacturers of pressure equipment must manufacture products in accordance with the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive to affix the CE mark and place it on the market. Conformity assessment of pressure equipment is required.

Personnel Qualification for Permanent Joints – Personnel Certification
In the manufacturing of pressure equipment, permanent joints are often made by welding. The Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU (Annex 1, section 3.1.2) defines the approval procedures for individuals making permanent joints. As a Notified Body, Finspection Oy has the authority to approve the qualifications of individuals making permanent joints.
In the manufacturing of pressure equipment, the directive requires third-party involvement in the qualification of individuals making permanent joints for equipment belonging to categories II-IV. By collaborating with Finspection, you ensure that your personnel comply with the requirements of the directive and European standards.

Procedure Qualification for Permanent Joints

As a Notified Body, Finspection Oy has the authority to approve the qualifications of procedures for making permanent joints.
In the manufacturing of pressure equipment, the directive requires third-party involvement in the qualification of methods used to make permanent joints for equipment belonging to categories II-IV.
